Hey Allie, I love the simplicity of your work and how you make the small things feel magical—there’s always a quiet kind of wonder in what you share. You’ve been a big inspiration to me lately. I ended up doing something in a similar spirit recently and thought I’d share, since it came from a similar place: https://fredcosci.substack.com/p/left-overs
hi Fred! love the idea of "quiet wonder," that means a lot to me. I love your leftovers books! awesome that you vulnerably shared with a curious friend, I've done that before and it is simultaneously terrifying and thrilling. In college I allowed a friend and a professor to read my diary- perhaps one of the most trusting things you can do with another human.
This reminds me of a workshop I took with Esther Pearl Watson and Mark Todd where they made “garbage zines”. They just collected paper scraps, newspaper and magazine clippings, rubbings, paintings, etc and compiled a zine that was more vibes than content. It was such a fun and freeing exercise.
Amazing work, Allie! This put a big smile on my face. We're definitely on the same wavelength. My last post was about not planning and one of my next was going to be about making a tiny artist book! The bit about the mouse made me laugh out loud.
You are such a fountain of brilliant ideas that it’s surprising to hear that you (a mere fellow art mortal) suffer from the feeling stuck sometimes too… the little book is so charming, and clearly charmed YOU which is the main point. We all must remember that we are the most important audience to satisfy. I admire you tremendously. 🏆
Stuart Little surrealism. SMITTEN. "Without thinking too hard..." (too late!). I've been trying to journal first thing in the morning with art instead of words. Words often bring me further into my head instead of releasing the emotions. Something about the kinetic activity removes the introspection. Delighted by everything you do!

Wonderful! And a new slogan for a throw pillow: Dance Like You're Squashing Hot Fruit.
